YOUR FAMILY IN HISTORY

© Anne-Marie Pollowy Toliver

My life in various cultures and subcultures taught me an awareness of environmental changes, which influenced my approach to this website.

First, I share two examples of a major environmental shift toward Jews in Hungary, from the relatively benign to the extremely hostile and deadly.

Second, I outline two interrelated approaches to understanding the complexities of our past. First, for genealogists, a path to help explore the context of their ancestors’ lives. Second, for the larger community, an outline for a potential holistic collaborative effort.

All errors in this work are mine. I have read extensively in English and Hungarian, and I also use fact-checked online data. Although I try to rely on “academic” objectivity, I am emotionally involved in the topic, and at times, my interpretation may differ from a more acceptable point of view.
